The cd

Today being like no other day Jennifer walks into work about 10 minutes before her shift starts and begins to settle in. She set up her laptop while her coworker was packing up her school books. Her coworker turns to her and said “hey Jenn, someone stopped by and dropped something off for you, it’s in your mailbox”. Jennifer looked at her puzzled and wondered who it might have been, she wasn’t expecting anything. She went to her mailbox and there was a cd sitting in there. There was nothing written on the cd just blank. Her curiosity led her to ask “Who was it, did they say” Her coworker had no answer for her just saying it was left on the desk from the shift before hers so she had put it in her mailbox. Jennifer sat down and waited for her computer to finish booting. She placed the cd into the drive and a familiar voice started coming from the speakers. “Hey Jenny, wait wait please hear me out before you make this cd into a coaster. In the hopes that you are still listening I am so sorry for all that happened between us. I miss you. It’s not the same with out you around. You use to take my breath away; I never really could breathe right when you came around. Despite what you think or how I have acted I love you, I have since day one.” Track one ended and music started playing and the voice started again singing this time. It was a song she knew he wrote about her. She had never heard it put to music or even sang for that matter. The cd continued in this fashion with songs about her or songs they use to enjoy together. Jennifer was in a mix of emotions. She knew in her heart she still had strong feelings for him and missed him terribly but she also isn’t a fool and remembers the pain he cause her when he picked up and left her. She thought o herself “I love him and maybe if I ever told him things would have been different”. She always did blame herself for him leaving but knew it wasn’t her fault really it was just bad timing.
